Clean, sand, then seal

Pavers move when the sand between them washes out, and in Jacksonville it washes out every rainy season. Weeds and ants get into the gaps, the edges start to rock underfoot, and the whole field slowly loses its line.

So the sealing is the last step, not the first. We clean the surface, sweep fresh joint sand in, and only then put the sealer down. The sealer binds the sand, keeps it in place through the storms, and slows the staining that gets into unsealed brick.

It also changes the look, and you get to choose how much — from a finish that leaves the pavers matte to one that brings the color up wet. We would rather show you the difference on a corner of your own patio than have you pick from a brochure.
